Kredivo Philippines Financing Corp. is the company operating the Kredivo PH digital credit platform. The business was previously connected with the corporate name Advantage Lending Corp.: the Securities and Exchange Commission’s historical register lists Advantage Lending Corp. under SEC Registration Number CS201905678, while the current Kredivo website uses the same registration number for Kredivo Philippines Financing Corp. The company also previously operated as Kredivo Philippines Lending Corp. before adopting its current financing-company name.

Through the Kredivo mobile application, approved customers can use an assigned credit limit for QRPh purchases, Buy Now Pay Later transactions, bill payments and cash loans. The platform does not require customers to have a traditional credit card.

Kredivo products

Kredivo PH currently provides several types of financing:

  • QRPh payments at participating merchants;
  • one-month PayLater transactions;
  • installment purchases;
  • cash loans;
  • payment of electricity, mobile, utility and other supported bills.

The products and repayment periods available to a particular customer depend on the account category and assigned credit limit.

Kredivo QRPh and Buy Now Pay Later

Kredivo users can scan a merchant’s QRPh code and pay using their available credit limit. The transaction reduces the available limit, which is restored after the customer fully repays the amount. The minimum QRPh transaction is ₱1, while the maximum depends on the individual credit limit.

The official FAQ divides customers into Basic and Premium account categories.

Basic users

Basic users may receive the following QRPh options:

  • one-month PayLater: 0% interest and a 1% administrative fee;
  • three-month installment: 3.99% interest per month and a 3% administrative fee.

Premium users

Premium users may receive:

  • one-month PayLater: 0% interest and a 1% administrative fee;
  • three-, six-, nine- or 12-month installments: 2.99% interest per month and a 1% administrative fee.

The applicable amount, interest, fee and installment period are displayed on the confirmation page before the transaction is completed.

Kredivo cash loans

The Kredivo cash-loan product allows an approved user to transfer money to a registered bank account or electronic wallet and repay it through monthly installments.

The official FAQ states that the minimum cash-loan transaction is ₱1,500. The maximum depends on the customer’s available credit limit. Kredivo’s official App Store description advertises cash loans of up to ₱50,000 for eligible users. The ₱50,000 amount is therefore a maximum platform limit rather than a guaranteed offer for every borrower.

Cash-loan terms for Basic users

Basic users may be offered:

  • a three-month repayment period;
  • interest of 3.99% per month;
  • a 5% administrative fee.

Cash-loan terms for Premium users

Premium users may be offered:

  • three- or six-month repayment periods;
  • interest of 2.99% per month;
  • a 5% administrative fee.

Kredivo states that there are no registration or annual fees. The final cost is shown in the application before the customer confirms a transaction.

How a Kredivo cash loan works

A registered user can request a cash loan through the following process:

  1. Open the Kredivo application and select Cash Loans.
  2. Choose an available amount, repayment period and loan purpose.
  3. Add the destination bank or e-wallet account.
  4. Confirm the request using the Kredivo PIN and one-time password.
  5. Tap Request to submit the transaction.

The receiving account must be under the same name shown on the government-issued ID used to register the Kredivo account. The company states that approved funds are normally received within one business day or earlier where possible.

Each cash loan reduces the customer’s available Kredivo credit limit. Once the loan has been fully repaid, the corresponding amount is restored to the available limit.

Kredivo bill payments

Kredivo can also be used to pay supported bills, including electricity, mobile load, data and other utility services available in the application.

The company publishes the following general bill-payment charges:

  • 0% interest when the bill is repaid by the due date;
  • a 1% administrative fee.

Bill payments also use part of the customer’s assigned credit limit. The available limit is restored after repayment.

Who can apply for Kredivo?

The official eligibility criteria are:

  • Filipino citizenship;
  • age from 18 to 60;
  • current residence in the Philippines;
  • possession of an accepted government-issued ID.

Kredivo states that its services are available nationwide in the Philippines. Meeting the basic conditions does not guarantee approval or a particular credit limit.

Accepted identification documents

Kredivo lists the following documents among the IDs accepted for an application:

  • Driver’s License;
  • National ID;
  • Digital National ID;
  • ePhilID;
  • UMID.

The applicant must submit a photograph of the selected ID and a selfie. An active email address and a registered, active mobile number are also required.

How to register for Kredivo

The application process is completed through the official Kredivo mobile app.

1. Download the application

The applicant downloads Kredivo from Google Play or the Apple App Store. The developer shown in the current iOS listing is Kredivo Philippines Financing Corp.

2. Enter personal information

The customer completes the registration form and supplies the basic personal information requested in the application.

3. Submit an ID and selfie

The applicant uploads one accepted government-issued ID and completes the required selfie verification.

4. Confirm contact details

A registered mobile number and active email address must be supplied so that Kredivo can send verification, application and account notifications.

5. Wait for the decision

Kredivo states that an approved application is processed within 24 hours during its operating hours of 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The result is sent through email and SMS.

Once an account is activated, the customer receives an activation email and a User Onboarding Agreement containing the registered information and applicable account terms.

Credit limit

Kredivo assigns an individual transaction or credit limit to each approved account. The limit available for a specific transaction may vary according to the selected repayment period.

The User Agreement allows Kredivo to increase or reduce an assigned limit after assessing the account and information available about the account holder. The customer is notified when the limit changes. However, the current FAQ states that users cannot manually request an increase in their credit limit.

Customers can view the available limit inside the application. Using the account for a purchase, cash loan or bill payment reduces the available balance until the relevant transaction is repaid.

Interest rates and total borrowing cost

The official app listing states that monthly interest across Kredivo installment products ranges from 0% to 3.99%, while service or administrative charges range from 1% to 5%. It publishes an APR range of 0% to 115% for installment plans.

The rate depends on:

  • whether the account is Basic or Premium;
  • the selected product;
  • the amount;
  • the repayment period;
  • the individual transaction terms.

A 0% interest transaction may still include an administrative fee. For example, the one-month QRPh option and bill-payment service carry a 1% fee even though the published interest rate is 0%.

Before confirming a transaction, the customer should review:

  • the principal amount;
  • the amount paid to the merchant or transferred to the borrower;
  • the monthly interest rate;
  • the administrative fee;
  • the number of installments;
  • each due date;
  • the total amount payable.

The individual confirmation page and Disclosure Statement determine the conditions applicable to a specific transaction.

Kredivo repayment

Customers can view outstanding transactions, future payments and due dates through the Transactions section of the application.

To make a payment, the user:

  1. opens the Transactions page;
  2. selects Pay;
  3. chooses the relevant bill;
  4. selects a payment method;
  5. follows the instructions provided by the selected channel.

Kredivo currently lists QRPh, bank transfers and electronic wallets among its payment methods.

Published payment-channel fees

The official FAQ lists the following charges imposed by payment providers:

  • QRPh: no additional fee;
  • BDO transfer: ₱25 InstaPay fee;
  • BPI transfer: no additional fee;
  • Landbank transfer: ₱15 InstaPay fee;
  • UnionBank transfer: ₱10 InstaPay fee;
  • Metrobank transfer: no additional fee;
  • RCBC transfer: ₱25 InstaPay fee;
  • GCash: ₱15 convenience fee;
  • Maya: ₱15 convenience fee.

These charges are collected by the payment platforms rather than Kredivo. Available methods and provider fees may change, so the current instructions in the application should be checked before payment.

Early repayment

Kredivo permits customers to pay a loan before its scheduled maturity date. However, the official FAQ states that early repayment still includes the full interest for the agreed loan term.

An early payment may therefore close the obligation sooner without necessarily reducing the originally agreed interest. The customer should confirm the settlement amount in the application or with customer service before paying.

Late payments

The official FAQ states that an overdue balance is subject to 5% late-payment interest on the remaining balance per month.

Kredivo may continue sending payment reminders and may take further action under the loan agreement. This may include engaging third-party collection services and reporting an unpaid obligation to the Credit Information Corporation.

Under the User Agreement, payments are applied in the following order:

  1. late-payment fees;
  2. convenience fees;
  3. interest;
  4. principal.

If the account remains unpaid for 60 days after the due date, Kredivo may use a third-party recovery agent and seek applicable collection and legal costs.

Cooling-off period

The Kredivo User Agreement provides a three-business-day cooling-off period after the execution of a loan agreement. During this period, the account holder may reconsider the costs and risks and submit a written cancellation notice to the company.

The agreement also states that outstanding amounts become payable if the account or agreement is terminated. Customers seeking to use the cooling-off period should contact Kredivo promptly and obtain written confirmation of the cancellation and settlement procedure.

Personal data and credit checks

Kredivo Philippines Financing Corp. states that it processes personal information in connection with credit and financing products and operates under the supervision of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company may use personal, identity, contact and transaction information to:

  • verify an applicant;
  • evaluate eligibility;
  • assign and manage a credit limit;
  • process transactions;
  • prevent fraud;
  • administer repayments;
  • comply with regulatory obligations;
  • recover unpaid amounts.

The User Agreement permits relevant credit information to be disclosed to credit-scoring companies, financial institutions, credit bureaus, service providers and collection partners where necessary for credit assessment, transaction processing or recovery.

Kredivo Philippines Lending Corp. is also listed by the Credit Information Corporation as an accessing entity. The CIC list had not yet been updated to the company’s newer financing-corporation name at the time reviewed.

Account security

Kredivo accounts are restricted to the registered account holder. The user must protect the PIN, password and one-time verification codes and must not allow another person to operate the account.

The application currently permits login on one verified device at a time. When switching to a new device, the customer may need to enter an OTP and complete selfie verification. A lost or stolen device should be reported to customer service so the old device can be unlinked.
